Can one CE or RoHS report be used for multiple screwdriver models?

Yes. One CE or RoHS test report can sometimes cover multiple screwdriver models, but only when the models belong to the same product family and the differences do not affect compliance.

For example, one report may be able to cover several models when they use the same:

  • Motor and gearbox
  • PCB and electronic design
  • Battery specification
  • Charging circuit
  • Main housing materials
  • Electrical components
  • Safety structure

Differences such as logo, product color, packaging, bit quantity, or bit combination normally have less impact on electrical compliance, but they should still be reviewed and documented.

Additional testing or a report update may be required if a model changes:

  • Battery model, voltage, or capacity
  • Motor or PCB
  • Charging circuit
  • Power or speed
  • Electrical protection design
  • Plastic, coating, solder, cable, or other materials relevant to RoHS
  • Product structure in a way that affects safety or EMC performance

For CE, technically there is not simply a “CE report.” The manufacturer must maintain technical documentation and issue an EU Declaration of Conformity identifying the products covered. Test reports such as EMC or safety reports form part of that supporting documentation.

For RoHS, compliance applies to the finished electrical product and its constituent parts, so the technical file must contain compliance information for the relevant materials and components.

For ToolQeen OEM projects, if several screwdriver models share the same core platform, we recommend asking the testing laboratory to list all applicable model numbers or define the product family in the report before testing. This is safer than testing one model first and assuming every later model is automatically covered.
