What parts of an electric screwdriver can be customized without new tooling?
Many electric screwdriver features can be customized without creating a new mold, as long as the existing housing, internal structure, and component space remain unchanged.
Common no-tooling customization options include:
Logo: laser engraving, printing, or private-label branding
Product color: anodizing, painting, or existing plastic color options
Bit combination: Phillips, Torx, Hex, Pentalobe, Tri-point, Slotted, and other profiles
Bit material: S2, CR-V, or other approved options
Bit quantity and length
Accessories: extension shafts, opening tools, tweezers, cables, and other set items
Retail packaging: artwork, labels, barcode, manual, and private-label box
Case layout: when an existing compatible tray or case can be used
Torque settings: on supported platforms where the motor, gearbox, and PCB can be adjusted without structural changes
RPM settings
PCB firmware or control logic: where the existing hardware supports the change
Battery capacity: only when the new battery fits the existing space and remains compatible with the PCB and charging system
Charging cable and accessory configuration
A new mold may become necessary if the customization changes the housing shape, handle dimensions, button layout, battery compartment, internal mounting points, or case structure.
