How should buyers verify that compliance reports match the actual product model?

Buyers should verify that the model number, product construction, key components, and specifications in the compliance report match the actual product being purchased.

We recommend checking:

  • Model number: the purchased model should appear directly in the report or in the listed product family
  • Manufacturer name: confirm that the factory or legal manufacturer matches the report
  • Product photos and drawings: compare the tested sample with the actual screwdriver
  • Battery: check manufacturer, model, voltage, capacity, and cell type
  • Motor and gearbox: confirm they have not been replaced with different specifications
  • PCB and charging circuit: especially important for rechargeable electric screwdrivers
  • Input/output ratings: confirm voltage, current, power, and charging specifications
  • Materials: for RoHS, verify that relevant plastics, cables, solder, coatings, and electronic components are covered
  • Report number and laboratory: confirm the report is complete and can be verified with the issuing laboratory
  • Standards and test scope: check that the report covers the compliance requirements needed for the destination market

For CE documentation, the EU Declaration of Conformity should clearly identify the product model, type, batch, or serial information, and the technical documentation must allow the product to be traced to the tested design. (europa.eu)

A common risk is that the supplier provides a valid report for an older or similar model, while the actual production unit uses a different battery, PCB, motor, or other critical component.

For ToolQeen OEM projects, we recommend locking the final product specification and key component list before compliance testing, then keeping the approved report, BOM, battery information, and production sample together as the reference for mass production.
